In 2020, the Chelyabinsk plant UMC (Russia) supplied products to Turkmengas for the construction of the international gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI)

Turkmengas will sign a contract with Pipe Metallurgical Company (Russian Federation) and GAZPROM Schweiz AG (Swiss Confederation) for the purchase of pipe products.
The corresponding decree authorizing the signing of this contract was signed by President Gurbanguly
Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting held last Friday via video link.
The draft of this resolution was presented to the Head of the state by the Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shahym Abdrakhmanov.
As noted, these products were planned to be used for the construction of pipelines supplying gas to new production facilities, including a gas turbine power plant being built on the territory of the Chardzhevs etrap of the
Lebap region.
Turkmenistan has been actively establishing business relations with the subjects of Russia, including Tatarstan, the Sverdlovsk and Astrakhan regions.
Since 2010,
Turkmennebit has been successfully cooperating with
Tatneft under the concluded contract for the provision of services for workover of wells and enhanced oil recovery at the Goturdepe field.
In June 2019, a memorandum was signed between the Turkmenhimiya and
Tatarstan's IED-Holding on joint development of the chemical industry of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan said it may open a trade representative office in Tatarstan´s capital Kazan.
In 2019, the trade turnover between Russia and
Turkmenistan increased 1.5 times and amounted to $ 695 million, and taking into account the supply of Turkmen gas reached about $1 billion.
