International tender for the construction of the 1st solar-wind power plant in Turkmenistan was announced

Ashgabat, June 23 - Neftegaz.RU. An international tender for the construction of the country's 1st hybrid solar and wind power plant with a capacity of 10 MW in the Balkan region has been announced by the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan.

It will be the country's 1st renewable power plant.
At a government meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that this hybrid station would initiate work carried out in the country in the field of renewable energy sources, emp that the most advanced technologies and know-how would be installed there.

According to Turkmen President, the implementation of this project would become a concrete practical step in the implementation of the National Strategy of Turkmenistan for the development of renewable energy.

An agreement on the allocation of a loan for the construction of a hybrid solar-wind power plant in the amount of $25 million was signed with the Abu Dhabi Development Fund during a visit to the UAE on June 10, 2021 of a Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy PM of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov.

At a government meeting, Berdimuhamedov signed a decree according to which a loan was provided to the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs for 15 years with a grace period of 3 years at 4% per annum.

The same decree instructed the Ministry of Energy of the country to conclude an internal Credit Agreement with the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs for a period of up to 15 years with a grace period of 3 years at 4.5% per annum.

In May 2019, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov launched the construction of a modern village in the Karakum desert near the artificial lake Altyn Asyr.
Wind and solar installations will be used here to generate electricity.
