Gazprom increased gas supplies to the Far Abroad by 25.7% in the 1st half of 2021

St.Petersburg, July 1 - Neftegaz.RU. In January-June 2021, Gazprom Export produced 260.8 bcm, which is 18%, or 39.8 bcm, more than in the 1st half of 2020, according to the preliminary data.

Exports to the Far Abroad (countries outside the former Soviet Union) reached 99.9 bcm, which is close to 1H historical record of 101.2 bcm.
The increase year-on-year is 25.7%, or 20.4 bcm.
In particular, the company boosted its supplies:
  • to Turkey (by 209.3%)
  • Germany (by 43.3%)
  • Italy (by 14.1%)
  • France (by 15.1%)
  • Romania (by 264%)
  • Poland (by 18.6%)
  • Bulgaria (by 42.6%)
  • Serbia (by 103%)
  • Greece (by 24%)
The exports to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline also continue growing.
In the longer term, Gazprom sees significant growth in Chinese gas demand, one of the company's core markets.
By 2030, Gazprom expects Chinese gas demand growth of more than 50% compared with 2020.

China´s gas demand was 325 Bcm in 2020, 6% higher than 2019.
Gazprom exported 4.1 Bcm of gas to China in 2020, volumes that are not included in the company's Far Abroad export levels.
