An interstate agreement on the establishment of a unified electricity market is currently in the works.
Formats of collaboration, terms of interaction for electricity sellers and buyers, and infrastructure development matters are under discussion.
Viktor Karankevich said:
- As far as the gas sector is concerned, our Russian partners and us have to determine the fundamental principles of operation of the unified market and to ensure the convergence of working conditions for our enterprises
The 1st steps to implement it were taken when an intergovernmental agreement on the transportation of nuclear materials was signed.
The preparation of a draft intergovernmental agreement on the management of spent nuclear fuel of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is underway.
The document is to be ready for signing by 1 July 2022.
The price for Russian gas for Belarus in 2022 will remain the same as in 2021.
Now Belarus pays $128.5 per 1000 m3 of Russian gas.
