Ukrainian Naftogaz reduces gas price for population

Kiev, March 25 - Neftegaz.RU. Ukraine's gas consumers will see prices drop as local exchange prices fall. According to Ukrinform, Naftogaz of Ukraine has cut the gas price for the population by 14%. "The gas price for March for the population has been reduced by 14%," the company wrote on Twitter.

However, Naftogaz has noted that the company does not supply gas directly to the population, except for Kirovohrad region.

"According to government rules, we supply gas under PSO through intermediaries. We hope that private suppliers will adjust their price according to the market decrease and it will not exceed UAH 4.3 per cubic meter," the company wrote.

The company added that they applied the minimum price allowed by the law "and we plan to continue to do so."

As Ukrinform reported, Naftogaz of Ukraine stated that in February 2020 it would sell gas for the needs of the population, heat producers for households and other protected consumers at the wholesale price of UAH 3,950 per 1,000 cubic meters (without VAT, gas sellers’ margins and gas transportation costs). This is 15% lower than in January 2020.
