The Head of Rosatom sent his condolences in connection with the death of Y. Amano

Moscow, July 23 - Neftegaz.RU. Director General of Rosatom A. Likhachev has sent his condolences to the members of the Secretariat of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in connection with the death of the Agency's Director General Yu. Amano.

Many years of Yu. Amano’s life have been consecrated to serving the IAEA. While heading this organization for 10 years, he has done a lot to achieve the aims and goals of the Agency.

Despite the challenging situation in the world, under the leadership of Y. Amano, the IAEA Secretariat has been conducting a balanced policy that allows the Agency to maintain a professional, non-politicized vector in its activities.

This is confirmed by today's unquestionably high authority of the IAEA as the main international organization responsible for the full range of issues related to the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The demise of Y. Amano is a great loss for the global atomic society.
