Mexican Pipeline Blown Up

A 30-inch pipeline exploded in eastern Mexico Wednesday, injuring at least two people, according to local officials.

Workers from the state-run oil company Pemex, had closed off the line and were working to contain the spilled oil. The reason of the damage is still unknown.
According to the officials, the explosion caused a fire in about 2.5 acres of sugarcane field and injured two people, who were being treated at a hospital.

About 400 other people were evacuated from the communities of Palmazola, Emiliano Zapata, Cruz de Tepela and Callejon due to concern about possible intoxication from a dense cloud of smoke.
