They will contribute to the presence of the company on the global LNG market and help it achieve greater sustainability due to modern technological solutions.
The 1st LNG carrier, Energy Integrity, was delivered on May 14 this year, while the 2nd carrier, Energy Intelligence, is planned towards the end of June.
The 2 LNG carriers are being built at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Okpo Shipyard in South Korea and will be managed by Greek shipping company Alpha Gas S.A.
The vessels feature an advanced re-liquefication system.
It allows to re-liquefy the unused boil-off gas – methane evaporated during LNG storage and transportation – and to return it back to the cargo tanks.
This is one the safest cargo containment systems.
It provides the least amount of boil-off in the course of LNG transportation.
Moreover, modern insulation techniques used in these vessels allow the reduction of the boil-off by around 40%. The ships will consume around 20% less fuel than a conventional TFDE-type LNG carrier.
This will result in lower emissions per mile, and more transported LNG.
