Delfin FLNG 1 will have an annual nameplate LNG production capacity of 4.4 million tonnes and is expected to begin production in 2030.
Moscow, June 4 – Neftegaz.RU. Delfin Midstream Inc. (Delfin) has taken a Final Investment Decision (FID) on Delfin FLNG 1. First FLNG facility in the U.S. will have the largest liquefaction capacity of any floating project globally.
Delfin secures additional investment from Global Infrastructure Partners, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Vitol and Diameter Capital Partners.
«Securing FID for our first FLNG vessel is a groundbreaking milestone not only for Delfin, but also for global energy security. We are excited by our ability to support U.S. energy and maritime dominance by bringing safe, reliable, low-cost LNG exports to market», said Dudley Poston, Delfin’s CEO.
Delfin LNG is a brownfield Deepwater Port requiring minimal additional infrastructure investment to support up to three FLNG Vessels producing up to 13.2 million tonnes of LNG per annum.
Delfin FLNG 1 will be located approximately 40 miles off the southern coast of Louisiana. It will have an annual nameplate LNG production capacity of 4.4 million tonnes and is expected to begin production in 2030.
The total project cost is approximately $5 billion. Feed gas will be sourced on the U.S. mainland and transported via existing pipelines to the offshore facility, where it will be liquefied onboard the FLNG vessel before being loaded onto LNG carriers for delivery to global markets.
