Nur-Sultan, February 1 - Neftegaz.RU. Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, had a meeting in Kazakhstan with Alik Aidarbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas.
The meeting took place during Vagit Alekperov's working visit to Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed current cooperation issues and business opportunities.
Among other things, the 2 leaders exchanged opinions on the development plans for the new Caspian offshore projects: Zhenis and Al-Farabi.
They also talked about conditions of joint work on the Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar project.
LUKOIL and KazMunayGas share a strategic partnership under the Agreement of joint geological studies of Kazakhstan subsurface resources in order to examine hydrocarbon potential of several fields in the country.
Russian oil company has signed 3 offshore exploration joint ventures with KazMunaygaz in recent yerars.
The companies cooperate on the Karachaganak and Tengiz (one of the world’s largest oil-gas-condensate fields), Al-Farabi and Zhenis projects, take part in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium oil transportation project and in joint ventures created to develop the Khvalynskoye and Tsentralnoye fields.
