Minsk, July 29 - Neftegaz.RU. On July 26, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus summoned a Charge d’Affaires of Lithuania, who was given a protest note, Belarusian MFA reports.
“As a result, the Belarusian company, which fully complied with all the requirements and offered the most favorable conditions, was actually excluded from the project,” said the Foreign Ministry.
The arguments provided by the Lithuanian side to justify the measure are unfriendly and create a dangerous precedent for politicization of bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere.
Lithuania is currently holding a tender for the construction of a gas pipeline, Belsat has learned. Belarusian enterprise Beltruboprovodstroy took part in the bid for the right to build the facility and offered the lowest prices among the bidders.
But the Lithuanians, guided by the security interests, decided not to deal with the company from the east. As a result, the Belarusian company was rejected, which caused a wave of indignation in Minsk.
