Russian Sovcomflot set to provide 2 LNG carriers to French TotalEnergies under long-term charters

Moscow, July 9 - Neftegaz.RU. Russian shipowner Sovcomflot (SCF Group) has firmed up long-term charter deal options on 2 LNG carrier newbuildings with its existing shipping partner TotalEnergies.

The vessels will be chartered for up to 7 years, serving a role in TotalEnergies' global LNG trade portfolio.
The French major exercised the option under a contract reached with SCF earlier this year for a sister vessel due for delivery in the 3^rd quarter of 2023.

The gas carriers are equipped with twin slow-speed X-DF engines, a hull-air lubrication system, and 2 shaft generators with electronic frequency converters.
These solutions are expected to result in significant fuel savings and together with a re-liquefaction system minimising GCU usage, reduce vessels’ emissions.

Sovcomflot’s fleet comprises 142 vessels with a total deadweight of 12.5 million tonnes.
The company currently has 16 gas carriers in operation, with further 21 vessels under construction.
