In 1999, he graduated from the University of Turan with a degree in International Economics.
In 2003, he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a degree in International Economics.
From 2007 to 2010, he was director general of Tenizservice of KazMunayGas.
From October 2013, he was appointed vice minister of oil & gas of Kazakhstan.
Since June 2019, he has served as Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
Kazakhstan is the world’s 9th-largest exporter of coal and crude oil, as well as 12th-largest supplier of natural gas.
The country currently generates 3% of its electricity from renewable sources.
The current goal of the Kazakh government is to increase the contribution of renewable energy sources by 15% to the country’s electricity balance by 2030 and by 50% by 2025.
