Belarusian oil refineries to get some 1.64m tonnes of Russian oil in December

Minsk, December 10 - Neftegaz.RU. Belarusian oil refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery and Naftan) are expected to get about 1.64 million tonnes of Russian oil in December, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, on 8 December.

The official said: “The nature of deliveries of hydrocarbon raw materials to Belarusian oil refineries in December will stay the same as it was in November 2020. The main suppliers will be Russian companies that will provide about 1.64 million tonnes of oil.”

BelTA reported earlier that in addition to Russian oil Mozyr Oil Refinery will get 80,000 tonnes of Azeri Light oil in December as a spot purchase.

Russian Vice Premier Alexander Novak said in November that Russian companies fulfill their obligations to supply oil to the Belarusian refineries in full. “In accordance with our agreements, Russian companies continue stable oil supplies on long-term and mutually beneficial conditions,” he said. According to Alexander Novak, such supply conditions are beneficial for both Russia and Belarus.

Like this year, Belarus will use oil from alternative sources next year. "Of course, we will purchase the bulk of oil from Russia which is delivered by pipeline transport. But at the same time we will buy some batches from other sources. The companies have an interest here as they can test different varieties to possibly increase the output of light petroleum products. This is absolutely natural and normal for any refinery. The situation with oil supplies is absolutely predictable for the next year," Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said.
