Vagit Alekperov discussed energy projects with Uzbek President

Tashkent, May 16 - Neftegaz.RU. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, who is in the country to attend the International Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan", Lukoil reported.

The volume of the Company's investments in the projects of Gissar and Kandym-Khauzak-Shady in Uzbekistan amounted to about $ 8 billion. Lukoil continues to assess the prospects for the oil and gas potential of new investment units in Uzbekistan.

Accumulated gas production exceeded 67 billion cubic meters, created about 2,700 permanent jobs, over 90% of them are citizens of Uzbekistan. The Kandym gas processing complex, commissioned in April 2018, has reached its planned capacity. Development of the Khauzak, Shady and South-West Gissar fields are underway.

"During the meeting, prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation were considered, including development of new investment programs and projects and the expansion of the activities of the Russian company in Uzbekistan," the presidential press service reports.

Uzbekistan is one of the key regions of LUKOIL activity. V.Alekperov emphasized the Company's readiness to further develop a long-term and full-scale partnership in the oil and gas industry.
