The U.S. government says that gas at American gas pumps are not expected to weaken by the Labor Day holiday in September.
The US Energy Information Agency reported in its weekly review of the oil market that it expects the price of gasoline to hover around the level of $1.93 per gallon.
Gasoline prices have risen for the last two weeks, after crude oil prices reached $40 per barrel due to supply concerns.
The agency also noted gasoline demand was virtually unchanged from the same time last year, although jet fuel demand was up 4.5 percent.
