Crude Fell Slightly

Crude oil prices slipped in thin early Asian trade on Wednesday, remaining, however, above $49 per barrel, on continued US supply concerns, speculations over an upcoming Iraqi election and OPEC decision on output.

Light sweet crude for March delivery fell 20 cents at $49.44 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in electronic trading midday in Asia.

Heating oil for February delivery stayed stable at $1.4240 per gallon.
Analysts expect the $50 a barrel level on Wednesday, when the U.S. Energy Department releases its weekly petroleum supply report.
