Oil Prices Extend Last Week Falling

Crude oil futures eased on Monday, after Qatar's energy minister said OPEC's customers were not asking for more oil, reducing concern about global shortages.

Crude oil for May delivery fell as much as 48 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to $54.36 a barrel at 2:55 pm Singapore time in after-hours electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

London's International Petroleum Exchange was closed Monday for the Easter holiday.
