Crude Extended Friday's Rise

Crude oil prices gained on Tuesday, ahead of the long holiday weekend.

The New York Mercantile Exchange was closed for Independence Day on Monday; meanwhile, in London Brent crude futures gained 46 cents to $58 a barrel, on London's International Petroleum Exchange, extending a $2 rise from Friday? level.

Brent had not yet traded on Tuesday.
