Gold Slightly Up

Gold futures settled up modestly but made a couple of huge price swings in New York Thursday. The market initially rose sharply on safe-haven buying after a series of explosions in London, but later gave up all of those gains as longs exited, traders and analysts said.

August gold contract rose to $430.10 on the Comex division of the NYMEX.
