Russia to Repay its Paris Debt

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed a decree, endorsing accords, reached in Paris on June 15-16, 2006, on repaying Russia's debt to the Paris Club, amounting to about U.S. $22 billion, Cbonds.info reported.

A governmental source told the Interfax News Agency that the prime minister had authorised Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak to sign a corresponding multi-lateral protocol on behalf of the Russian government on conditions, adopted by Russian Cabinet on June 22.

The source said that the protocol would be signed in the near future.
