Oil edged up, having traded lower for much of the day
Oil rose, after having traded lower for much of the day, after weekly US inventory data showed a surprise fall in crude inventories and a decline in distillates that was in line with expectations.
At 4.04 pm in London, Brent North Sea crude contracts for January delivery were up 22 cents at $63.54 a barrel, after dropping 13 cents to $63.32 a barrel yesterday.
