World oil prices eased on Monday after striking their highest level since early January
World oil prices eased on Monday after striking their highest level since early January, as cold winter weather continued across much of the United States, dealers said.
In London, the price of Brent North Sea crude for March delivery fell 22 cents to $58.19 per barrel in electronic trading. The contract had finished on Friday at the highest close since 3 January 2007.
New York's light sweet crude for delivery in March, shed 19 cents to $58.83 per barrel.
New York crude earlier peaked at $59.36, which was also last seen on 3 January.
