U.S. crude eased 27 cents to $79.67 a barrel on the NYMEX, taking five-day losses to more than $3 a barrel amid a rash of profit-taking from near record highs.
A rebounding dollar and evidence of weaker U.S. demand have fuelled the pull-back.
