Gold Eased From Record High, But Still Remains Near

Gold eased but stayed within striking distance of a record high hit yesterday as some players took profits.

At 9.56 am, spot gold was lower at 757.60 usd per ounce against 760.80 usd in late New York trades yesterday.

Some analysts warn that with such high prices, a sharp downwards correction could be on the way. Gold has risen some 20 pct since the start of the year.
