Chinese Firms Invest in Central Asian Pipeline

PetroChina and China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corp have both invested 8 billion yuan into their joint venture, CNPC Exploration and Development Co Ltd., which will build a natural gas pipeline for fuels purchased by China from Turkmenistan.

The pipeline of $7.31 billion worth runs from the border of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to China. The pipeline will be able to transport 30 billion cubic meters per year.
