Gold was little changed near a one- week low in Asia After declining for the past three days on concern that strength in the U.S. dollar may erode the precious metal's appeal as an alternative asset.
Gold for June delivery fell 0.3 percent to $864 an ounce in after-hours electronic trading on Comex at 10:12 a.m. Singapore time. Gold for April 2009 delivery was up 1 yen at 2,940 yen a gram ($870 an ounce) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange at the 11 a.m. local time break.
