The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is beginning a study of flaring associated petroleum gas (APG) in Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, 1news.az reports.
Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan still flare a significant amount of APG. Russia alone flares up to 20 billion cubic meters of gas a year,leading the world in APG flaring.
The EBRD's main goals in conducting the study are to identify the best applicable methods for utilizing APG and to subsequently prepare feasible APG projects.
The contract to conduct the study envisions a nine-month term with possible prolongation given need. the maximum budget is 1 million euros. Bids may be submitted until 18 September to the EBRD offices in London.
