Environmentalists and critics have called for more ambitious targets for renewable energy.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the new plan seems to rely less on natural gas, but didn't cut emissions goals much more than the previous government had expressed a desire to do.
The United States has committed to a reduction of 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050.
The EU has also set a goal of at least 55% reduction by 2030 and 100% by 2050.
