Tuymen oblast, August 22 - Neftegaz.RU. The results of the work carried out by the 2019 environmental expedition to Vilkitsky Island in the Kara Sea were summarized. Over the course of 1 month, the Arctic Volunteers group cleaned up more than 60 hectares of the island’s territory. The volunteers collected a total of over 200 tons of scrap metal and dismantled 20 dilapidated buildings and structures left from the Soviet era.
Environmental improvement efforts on Vilkitsky Island have been in progress since 2017. Gazprom Dobycha Nadym is among the companies providing considerable financial support to the environmental movement. Over the said period, the gas company has given around RUB 3 million to clean up the island.
Gazprom Dobycha Nadym is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The company’s key activities are production and treatment of gas and gas condensate. It was created to develop and operate the Medvezhye oil, gas and condensate field. It is now also involved in production at the Yubileynoye, Yamsoveyskoye, and Bovanenkovskoye fields.
The company holds the license for the development of the Kharasaveyskoye gas and condensate field, where pre-development is still in progress. Area of activity: Nadymsky, Purovsky, and Yamalsky Districts of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.
Gazprom Dobycha Nadym is the key job provider in the town of Nadym and the Pangody settlement. The company’s team comprises over 10,000 employees, it has 13 operating gas facilities and 15 specialized branches. The annual gas production of the company is over 100 billion cu m.
