Kiev, February 5 - Neftegaz.RU. The OKKO business group (Ukraine) plans to expand the automotive fuel market, including through the purchase of oil products from Turkmenistan, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
In early 2021, OKKO acquired the Kherson oil transshipment complex and is going to invest $3 million for its modernization.
The company representatives said that the new acquisition would provide an opportunity to strengthen the company's logistics base to improve the efficiency and mobility of shipments of petroleum products to its petrol stations in the southern and eastern regions of the state.
In addition, this is a significant stage in ensuring the diversification of suppliers of petroleum products.
Vice-President of OKKO Y.Kuchabskiy mentioned that the acquisition of the port complex opened up a wide fuel market: under favorable conditions OKKO would be able to increase the volume of imported oil products from Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria. In this vein, the figure was named at 150-200 thousand tons per year.
At the moment, «Concern Galnaftogaz» (OKKO group) operates about 440 filling stations. Kherson oil transshipment complex includes a harbor for unloading oil tankers and storage of fuel, an oil depot with access to railways, and a network of oil products pipeline.
