French and Kazakh companies ink a long- term contract
Astana, October 14 - Neftegaz.RU. The French company Air Liquide Karabatan Tech Gases and Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries (KPI) have signed last week in Paris a long-term contract for the supply of technical gases, the press service of KazakhInvest National Company said.
“The contract provides for the construction of a plant for the production of dry compressed air and nitrogen on the territory of the Free Economic Zone National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark. The contract also provides for the supply of dry compressed air and nitrogen to the Integrated Gas Chemical Complex (in western Kazakhstan),” KazakhInvest said.
This signing was the next step in the development of AirLiquide in Kazakhstan as part of a joint venture with the Kazakhstan national oil and gas company KazMunayGas.
France is among the 5 key trade and investment partners of Kazakhstan, mutual trade turnover reached $50 billion. The parties implemented several large joint investment projects in the uranium, oil and gas, titanium industries, in the field of transport engineering, production of building materials, food products, etc. over the past 14 years, it has attracted more than $15.6 billion of investments from France.
More than 130 companies with French capital operate in Kazakhstan. These are such large multinational companies as Alstom, Total, Orano, Danone, VICAT and others. France is in 3rd place among foreign investors in Kazakhstan.
