Bahrain's Zayani Motors will start selling Mitsubishi automobiles in Iraq this April through a joint venture with a local firm.
The company forecasts to sell 20,000 units a year and will employ more than 300 Iraqis.
The company would like to expand its dealership network to other major cities, such as Basra in the south and Mosul in the north, by the end of the year.
These Mitsubishis will be the first new car sales in Iraq in over 10 years, since only used cars were sold under the economic sanctions imposed after the Persian Gulf War.
