U.S energy bankrupt Enron chairman and CEO Kenneth Lay on Wednesday charged the man leading an investigation of his wife Linda of possible insider trading.
"I would be shocked if Mr. Weissmann took any further action against Linda, but the fact that he is investigating her is troubling," Lay said.
He added that if his suspicions are not groundless, he and his wife will claim ?an investigation of the investigators.?
Lay has insisted he did nothing wrong and knew nothing of the accounting schemes stitched together by top Enron officers such as Andrew Fastow, the former chief financial officer whose wife was also embroiled in the Enron investigation.
