Kiev, January 27 - Neftegaz.RU. European consumers can benefit from the use of the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) and underground gas storage facilities.
"The use of Ukrainian infrastructure will help the GTS operator to raise money and will be an advantage for European consumers," CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev said at the World Economic Forum, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
He stressed that Ukraine's gas transmission system can be used not only for the transit of Russian gas. "Gas can be transported from south to north. Thus, Poland can receive gas from Slovakia," Kobolyev added.
The CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine also suggested that European traders may use Ukrainian gas storage facilities.
"Everyone knows that the capacities of our storage facilities are excessive for Ukrainian consumers. At least 10 billion cubic meters of storage facilities can serve the needs of European consumers," Kobolyev said.
