Ashgabat, April 20 - Neftegaz.RU. Malaysia’s state-owned oil giant Petronas is ready to start production from its Garagol Deniz West field in the Turkmenistan area of the Caspian Sea.
The jacket for an unmanned drilling and production platform was installed in 2013, but the topsides was only put in place earlier this month.
It was designed and constructed over a period of almost 8 years. Output from the field in Block 1 is expected to peak at 10,000 barrels per day of oil and 35 million cubic feet per day of gas.
Garagol Deniz is located in Block 1 contract area which covers around 1,467 sq. km, which also includes Diyarbakir, Magtymguly, Ovez, and Mashrykov fields.
The explored reserves reach at least 1 trillion m3 of gas, more than 200 million tons of oil and 300 million tons of gas condensate.
Having received a license for exploration and production of oil and gas in the Block 1 as part of Magtymguly, Diyarbekir and Garagol Deniz fields, Petronas signed the agreement with the Turkmen government for the division of production in July 1996.
