Digital industrial safety systems now being deployed at the Omsk Refinery

Omsk, August 18 - Neftegaz.RU. A digital industrial-safety control system has been put into commercial operation at the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery’s gas fractionation unit. Using neural network elements it is now possible to obtain information on this production facility’s condition and status online, and to predict and prevent potential deviations from norm, in advance.

This project has been implemented together with Rostechnadzor (the Russian government’s supervisory agency for ecological, technological, and nuclear issues). This cutting-edge system will be able to be deployed at other industrial plants, going forward.

All data on the facility’s operational parameters are continuously fed into the integrated control centre at the Omsk Refinery, and the situation room at Rostechnadzor. The system operates through a Russian-produced software platform, developed by predictive-analytics systems specialists Russian Telecom Equipment Company (RTEC) - Software Systems.

“Collaborating with Gazprom Neft on deploying this remote-controlled industrial safety system will provide the industry with automatic predictive tools, tools for assessing the risk of emergency situations arising, and tools for taking preventative measures to avoid these. Industrial safety is determined not by frequency of inspections, but by business transparency and the practical use of proactive emergency and incident risk management, based on modern digital technologies for ongoing monitoring and analysis, said Sergei Nagibin CEO, RTEC - Software Systems.
