He was born in 1943.
In 1967 he graduated from the Moscow Gubkin Institute of Petro-chemical and Oil Industry with the qualification 'engineer-mechanics on projecting and utilization of the main line oil pipe-lines and oil-bases'. Till 1970 he worked in the system of the RSFSR Main Oil Supply.
In 1970-1988 - he worked in 'Glavtransneft'.
In 1988-1991 - the Ministry of oil and gas industry of the USSR.
In 1991-1995 he occupied leading posts in the joint Russian-Swiss enterprise 'Sovenergodiagnostika', then in 'RTSB', B-GAS-C, Moscow representation of NST.
Since April 1995 he has been vice-president of 'Transneft'.
