Oil production at Kazakh Kashagan in 8 months amounts to 10.4 million tonnes

Nur-Sultan, September 11 – Neftegaz.RU. The volume of oil and condensate production in January-August 2020 amounted to 58.3 million tonnes, the plan for 2020 is 85.2 million tonnes, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev told a government meeting on September 9, New Europe reported.

“During the specified period, Tengiz produced 18.2 million tonnes of oil, Kashagan – 10.4 million tonnes, Karachaganak – 8.2 million tonnes,” Nogayev said.

Oil exports amounted to 47.3 million tonnes; forecast of export volume for 2020 is 67.5 million tonnes. The volume of gas production during 8 months of this year amounted to 37.7 billion cubic metres; the plan for 2020 is 56.5 billion cubic metres.

The production of petroleum products in January-August 2020 reached 7.4 million tonnes. The plan for the production of petroleum products for 2020 is 11.6 million tonnes. The volume of uranium production amounted to 13,500 tonnes, the plan for 2020 is 19,300 tonnes.

“There is uranium mining is declining in Kazakhstan and other countries. This has affected the rise in uranium prices. Since March 2020, it (increased) from $24 to $32.5,” the minister added.

Kazakhstan plans to produce about 85.2 million tonnes oil in 2020 under OPEC+. Kazakhstan produced 90, 6 million tonnes last year.
