Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov poses urgent tasks to the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, November 25 - Neftegaz.RU. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said about the need to increase the pace of introduction of advanced technologies in the oil and gas sector, increasing the volume of exports of petroleum products at a government meeting, which summed up the socio-economic development of the country in January-October 2019.

As Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldi Meredov said at the meeting of the government, in the 10 months of 2019, the plan for oil refining was fulfilled by 101.8 %, for the production of gasoline-by 100.1 %, diesel fuel-by 103.5 %. Berdimuhamedov stressed that the results of 10 months showed that production indicators in the oil and gas sector continue to lag behind the annual plan.

According to the head of state, the main reasons for this are low rates of introduction of advanced technologies into production, passive work on placement of high-quality petroleum products and polypropylene film on the world markets. Disadvantages are allowed when placing oil products on the domestic market.

The President demanded to step up the pace of introduction of advanced technologies into production, improve the efficiency of well overhaul, attract leading foreign companies to develop new fields, increase oil production from hard-to-reach, difficult-to-develop formations. Special emphasis was placed on the issues of oil refining and production of basic petroleum products, placement of these products and polypropylene film on the world and domestic markets.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also pointed to the need to increase the production of gas and chemical products, to study the possibilities of logistics to enter new markets, to properly establish the work of the plant producing environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas.

The head of state ordered to analyze the work of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, to determine promising directions for its further multidisciplinary development, using new forms of production management.

The President instructed to take the necessary measures to introduce digital technologies into the production process, expand the range and improve the quality of manufactured oil products, as well as continue relevant activities to promote them to the world market.
