Cairo, August 23 - Neftegaz.RU. The consortium of Eni, Rosneft, BP, and Mubadala Petroleum continues the successful implementation of the Zohr gas project on the Mediterranean shelf together with Egyptian oil and gas companies.
The project’s gas production has been increased by 12% to 76 million cubic metres per day (2.7 billion cubic feet per day) and thus it has reached its design capacity.
The design capacity was achieved 5 months ahead of the Plan of Development due to the start-up of the 2nd 30-inch pipeline connecting the offshore subsea production facilities to the onshore gas treatment plant.
Zohr is the largest gas field in the Mediterranean. It was discovered in 2015. The project is being implemented as a concession between Italian Eni (operator, 50%), Rosneft (30%), British BP (10%), and UAE’s Mubadala Petroleum (10%).
