The vessels, each capable of carrying 174,000 m3 of super-cooled gas, will be built exclusively for the PGNiG Group and will enter service in the 1st half of 2024.

In total, the Polish company has now chartered 4 vessels from Knutsen.
The company said it plans to use these LNG carriers primarily to transport contracted volumes from US liquefaction facilities, contracted by PGNiG in FOB trading formula..
PGNiG did not reveal the name of the shipyard but Knusten has ordered the previous 2 LNG vessels at South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The share of Russian gas in total gas imports by Poland´s PGNiG remained at the level of approximately 60 %.
In 2015 it accounted for almost 90 %.
