The parties discussed the process and development prospects of the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the energy sector, and touched upon issues related to Gazprom's activities.
Both sides highlighted the ongoing programs aimed at the development of the energy sphere of Armenia and the establishment of a reliable gas supply system.
Gazprom Armenia this year tops the list of the major taxpayers in the country.
Gazprom Armenia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, supplies natural gas to Armenia’s domestic market.
In addition, the company transports, stores, distributes and sells gas, as well as upgrades and expands the gas transmission system and UGS facilities in Armenia.
In January-June 2021, the volumes of natural gas imported to Armenia were increased by 1.5% compared to the same period of the last year, making 1,171.5 million m3 against 1,153.9 million m3 in the 1st half of 2020.
During the mentioned period, 1,114.8 million m3 of gas were sold against 1,106.8 million m3 in the 1st half of 2020.
In January-June volumes of gas consumption in the energy and industrial sectors made 139.8 and 113.4 million m3, respectively.
The volumes of natural gas consumption by the population made 436.8 million m3.
The volumes of gas sold to CNG refueling stations and other consumers made 234.1 and 190.7 million m3, respectively.
