The time to bid for Iraqi?s first post war sales ended yesterday. A dozens of oil companies, traders and refineries showed their interest in the 10 million barrels of crude from storage at the Turkish Mediterranean terminal of Ceyhan and the Mideast Gulf terminal of Mina al-Bakr.
Although the country is at least a year away from the 2.5 million barrel a day pre war production oil companies are keen in supporting Iraq at an early stage.
It is expected, that the winner will have further lucrative trade opportunities in the emerging Iraqi oil industry.
