Azeri-US Military Exercises Begin

Joint US-Azerbaijani training to protect offshore oil platforms is starting today in Baku and will continue until February 6th. The training's objective is to increase the skills of the Azerbaijani navy in protecting oil and gas platforms, as well as other offshore drilling facilities.

Eighteen American and 45 Azerbaijani servicemen and two patrol boats are taking part in practical exercises. The exercises are held in line with the plan on US-Azerbaijani military cooperation.
