Iran/Austria in Cooperation
Transfer of gas to Europe beneficial to both countries...
According to the "Tehran Times", Austria is cooperating with Iran on the transfer of the country's gas to Europe, the Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Es'haq Jahangiri said at a joint economic seminar.
The Islamic Republic has already been exporting natural gas to Turkey, which Iran looks at as a gateway for the export of Iranian natural gas to European markets. Jahangiri further stressed that there exists a 'very suitable ground for cooperation between Iranian and Austrian companies in implementing economic projects in the Persian Gulf littoral states, Central Asian and Caucasian nations as well as Afghanistan and Iraq'.
He urged Austrian companies to come forward with direct investments in Iran, now that there is a 'suitable ground following Majlis' approval of encouraging mutual investments and avoiding double taxation between the two countries'.
