In an interview, Hamid Majid Musa, Chairman of the Iraqi Communist Party and member of the Iraqi Provisional Governing Council said the Al-Mada list of recipients of oil donations from Saddam Husayn was authentic.
The Al-Mada daily circulated last week a list of persons companies, organizations and parties from some 50 countries who received oil from Saddam in exchange for political support.
The list does not originate from the Provisional Governing Council; it was part of the government's archives, said Mussa. The Iraqi secret services may have been involved and may have taken part of the money, he added.
