Canada's PetroKazakhstan plans to increase oil extraction in 2004, the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency reported on February 3rd.
"The PetroKazakhstan oil company has plans to increase oil extraction by 10.7 per cent in 2004," the agency said, quoting the company.
"Between 160,000-175,000 barrels of oil a day will be extracted this year," the company said.
The company extracts oil from 11 Kazakh oil deposits, half of which goes to meet the needs of Kazakhstan and the other half is exported, the report added.
