Kazakhstan Moves Oil to Iran
Analysts interested in move due to country's BTC influence...
Kazakhstan plans to supply 21,000 barrels of crude per day (roughly one million tons a year) to Iran, the Kazakhstan Today news agency reported. Kazakh oil is now being shipped to Iran from Aktau, a Kazakh seaport on the Caspian coast.
Obviously this serves as an indication that Kazakhstan is moving towards exporting oil through Iran. This is important since the BTC pipeline needs Kazakh to operate at capacity.
Kazakhstan plans to more than triple its oil output to about 3 million b/d by 2015.
