Contractors have submitted bids for the UAE's $200 million Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build new gas processing facilities in Sharjah.
Among the bidders are Lebanon?s Contracting and Trading and Sharjah?s Petrofac International. The winner will be commissioned with building two onshore trains, each with a capacity of 300 million feet of gas per day, a sulphur recovery unit,
granulation and storage facilities at the Sajaa field.
Sharjah?s oil and gas production comes from the small offshore Mubarak oil field
discovered in 1973 and the Sajaa field discovered in 1980. Sharjah now has its own gas liquefaction plant. Its marine
facilities include two shipping ports.
